You know, it's sometimes hard to imagine a smell worse than a family dog after it's been trapped in the rain for a short while. There is, however, a scent that trumps it. That delightful odor is the one the family dog will drag through the house if it manages to startle, corner or frighten a friendly neighborhood skunk.
Check out a few seconds of this video clip. It shows a very typical situation that many of us have been in.
This skunk has made its way into the backyard of someone's home and is prowling for something to eat. These
creatures are usually docile, however they scare easily at times, leading to their awful spray being emitted. Thankfully
the skunk in this clip left peacefully.
To Some, Skunks Have More Going for them than Just a Smelly Scent
I've spent a lot of time focusing on ways to help people get rid of skunk odor.
But would you believe that in that time during all of my research I have developed a respect for the skunk?
Well, I have!
Sure they have a rancid reputation that makes most people and even a lot of
other animals flee in the opposite direction, but there's more to
skunks than meets the eye - or nose. The truth is these little
critters are rather remarkable, scent and all. When the facts
about skunks are examined, it turns out these creatures not
only have a valuable purpose in the ecosystem, but they also
have some very good reasons for their unsavory scenting. Believe it or not, skunks are important.
Find out why in my skunk revelations.
